Star Wars™ Identities: The Exhibition
Challenge
After multiple unsuccessful attempts to bring the exhibition to Japan, X3 Productions needed a fast and reliable path into the market. Tight timelines and an active international touring schedule made local partnership alignment and operational coordination critical.
Our Task
Akuntsu conducted rapid market research, identified the right Japanese partners, and facilitated negotiations that led to a signed agreement. From there, we remained embedded as the bilingual project management layer across production, logistics, technical operations, marketing, merchandising, and opening delivery. The exhibition successfully launched in Japan, attracting more than 150,000 visitors and establishing a long-awaited presence in one of the world’s most important entertainment markets.
Serge Labelle and Yuko Nakamura led the negotiation of our co-production agreement for our Star Wars: Identities exhibition. Their many contacts allowed us to meet the decision-makers with all the relevant players in Tokyo and ultimately to sign a partnership agreement with Sony which is extremely promising and hopefully long-lasting. Their in-depth understanding of the Japanese people paired with their business acumen was particularly helpful. I will not hesitate to recommend them and work with them for our next opportunities.
